Resurrection

If you have watched Stranger Things, Atomic Blonde, American Made or all of Netflix’s Narcos and you haven’t noticed the  level of detail that has gone into recreating a bygone era, then God help you. But my nagging thought was not just how they could secure those many cars from the era to be lining the streets and moving around in traffic but also around the sheer level of destruction of old classic machines in the several car scenes, especially in Atomic Blonde that is set mostly in 1989 Berlin. It’s not like the carmakers are  making the same models anymore. Do they have a secret factory or warehouse or something where they build or repurpose these classic beauties? Only to be blown up in a car chase? That said it is almost now an obsession for filmmakers to tell stories not set in our times. If only the cars were magically saved, somehow.
